We design and build websites for businesses across Phoenix, from a studio in Gilbert. Not a Phoenix address — we will get to why that matters less than it sounds, and where it genuinely does matter we will say so.
This is worth understanding before you spend anything. A web design project in Gilbert or Queen Creek competes against a handful of other local firms. In Phoenix you are competing against national agencies with Phoenix landing pages, template mills quoting three hundred dollars, and genuinely good local studios charging what good work costs. The spread of quality and price is enormous, and from the outside almost all of them look identical.
What that means practically is that the thing separating sites that earn work from sites that sit there is rarely the visual design. It is whether the site answers, quickly and specifically, the three questions every visitor arrives with: do you do the thing I need, do you cover where I am, and can I trust you with money. Most Phoenix business sites we look at answer the first, gesture at the second, and skip the third entirely.
Phoenix is not one market. A dentist in Ahwatukee and a dentist in Deer Valley are forty minutes apart and share almost no customers. Someone searching from Arcadia is not going to drive to Desert Ridge for a service they can get closer, and Google knows that — proximity is weighted heavily in local results, which is why a single generic “serving the greater Phoenix area” page performs so poorly for businesses that actually operate in one part of the city.
So we build for the geography you really serve. If you are in Midtown and your customers come from Encanto, Coronado and the Willo district, the site should say that in words a person would use, not in the phrase “the greater Phoenix metropolitan area”. If you genuinely cover the whole city and the surrounding towns, it should say that too, and list them, because customers want to know you cover them before they pick up the phone.
WordPress, on hosting fast enough to matter, designed for phones first. That last part is not a slogan. For most Phoenix service businesses somewhere between two thirds and three quarters of visitors arrive on a phone, frequently on cellular in a car, and a site that takes six seconds to become useful has already lost a meaningful share of them.
Concretely, every site we build gets:
Two things about Phoenix change how a site should be built, and both get missed by agencies working from somewhere else.
The first is seasonality. A large number of Valley businesses see demand swing hard between summer and winter — HVAC and pool services in one direction, landscaping, roofing and anything involving working outdoors in the other, and everything touching snowbirds and tourism in a third pattern again. A site that cannot be re-pointed at a different service in twenty minutes, without calling us, is a site that will be showing the wrong thing for a third of the year.
The second is that emergency and same-day work behaves differently from considered purchases. If part of what you sell is “my air conditioning has failed in July”, that path needs to be one tap from anywhere on the site, and the page it lands on needs to load on a bad connection in a hot car. Considered purchases can afford a slower, richer page. Mixing the two into one design serves neither.
Here is the honest version. Being in Gilbert rather than Phoenix costs you almost nothing and saves you something.
What you lose is the ability to drop in unannounced. In practice nobody does this, and the meetings that genuinely benefit from being face to face — the first conversation, the walkthrough of your premises, the sign-off — we drive to. Twenty-five to forty minutes each way, no travel charge.
What you gain is that our overheads are not Phoenix overheads, and that difference shows up in the quote rather than in our office furniture. You also get people who work in this valley and know it, which is a different thing from an account manager in another state who has looked at a map.
Where being physically in Phoenix would genuinely matter, we will say so. If you need somebody on site weekly, we are the wrong firm and we will tell you that in the first conversation rather than the fourth.
A well-built site that nobody finds is a brochure in a drawer. For most Phoenix businesses the largest single lever is not the website at all — it is the Google Business Profile, with the right primary category, real photographs, accurate service areas and a steady flow of reviews. That is usually where the first month of effort should go, and it is frequently free.
The search side of the work is Phoenix SEO, and it is a separate engagement from the build. We will tell you which of the two your money should go into first, and it is not always the one we would prefer to sell. For how we approach design across the state, see Arizona web design; for the engineering side of larger builds, see Phoenix web development.
Call (480) 818-5761 or email info@azwebcorp.com. We are at 4690 E Laurel Ave, Gilbert, AZ 85234, and we will come to you anywhere in Phoenix.
The first conversation costs nothing. We look at what you have, tell you what we would do and roughly what it would cost, and you decide whether it is worth paying for. If the honest answer is that your current site is fine and the money would do more somewhere else, that is what you will hear.
No, and we would rather say so than rent a mailbox on Central and pretend otherwise. We work from Gilbert, in the East Valley, which is twenty-five to forty minutes from most of Phoenix depending on where you are and what the 202 is doing. We come to you for the meetings that are worth having in person, and we do not charge travel for it.
For most small and mid-sized Phoenix businesses, a properly built site lands in the low thousands rather than the hundreds or the tens of thousands. The honest answer is that it depends on how many pages you need, whether you are selling online, and how much of the content and photography already exists. We quote a fixed number before we start, not an hourly rate that drifts.
Four to eight weeks is typical. The variable is almost never the build. Projects stall waiting on copy, photographs and decisions from the client, so if you have those ready it moves faster, and if you do not we will tell you exactly what to gather before we start the clock.
Completely. The domain, the hosting account, the site files and the content are all yours and stay in your name. If you decide to work with someone else in two years you take everything with you. Arrangements where leaving means losing your website are common in this industry and you should decline them wherever you find them.
Often, yes, and sometimes that is the better call. If the foundation is sound we would rather fix what is not working than bill you for a rebuild you did not need. We will tell you honestly which situation you are in after looking at it, and that first look does not cost anything.
Sometimes. If you are a designer in Phoenix who needs a build partner, or an agency needing overflow development capacity, we do white-label work and are comfortable staying invisible. Get in touch and tell us what the arrangement needs to look like.
